ABOUT SUMMIT SPINE & SPORT
Joshua Leuppie, DC has been practicing since graduating from New York Chiropractic College in 2017. He was born and raised in Western New York, he spent his first year practicing in Phoenix, Arizona, but has returned home and has been serving the Greater Buffalo and Niagara areas since 2018.
He is a 2013 graduate of SUNY Buffalo, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science. After he, as an athlete, and family had positive experiences with chiropractic, he decided that he wanted to do his best to help people feel the same physical and mental relief that accompanies a pain free lifestyle. Being an athlete as well as a lifetime student, Dr. Leuppie understands the stresses that being both physically active and stuck behind a desk can have upon the body.
With these experiences, Dr. Leuppie is able to identify, diagnose, and create an appropriate treatment plan using many techniques to help his patients achieve optimum health and performance while walking with them through the process of recovery.

With a near infinite amount of potential issues that can occur in the body, that question cannot be answered until the patient is evaluated. After the Doctor has taken you through a thorough Health History, Orthopedic and Neurologic exam and evaluation the doctor will discuss how often your condition needs treatment, how long it may last, and any potential steps we can take to reduce the risk of it from happening again!
Absolutely! There are over 850 different chiropractic techniques, and quite a few of them do not require twisting and cracking at all!
Adjustment of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released.
Chiropractic manipulation is a controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort because minimal force and gentle pressure are used. In fact, most patients feel relief immediately following treatment. Any reported soreness after an initial adjustment has been described as similar to that associated with starting a new exercise program. Drinking plenty of water, using an ice pack, and engaging in light stretching after your first visit can help ease any discomfort and promote healing.
We do! We believe that the soft tissue is just as important as the spine itself! The spine and it’s structure is supported by muscles and ligaments, we believe that by working on the muscles in addition to the joints themselves we produce an effective treatment plan for our patients.
IASTM is Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization. Sometimes the body lays down “ scar” or fibrotic tissue to stabilize an injured area, this technique allows the practitioner to safely realign the muscle and fibrotic tissue and increase the patients range of motion and decrease pain levels.
In our office we specifically use ConnecTx.
Yes we do cupping, with the goal being to utilize the cups and movement to improve circulation, range of motion, and general tissue health.
Cupping is a technique that is gaining a ton of attention lately, both in the athletic and the pain management world. It is a technique taken from Traditional Eastern Medicine, it uses suction and pressure to create changes in muscle tissue.
